Richard has worked with the body of transparent optical green glass in his series of glass sculptures – Within. The surfaces and internal volumes of each sculpture brings a new visibility from the form. Further working with surface treatments alters the degree of transparency.

We all have a place within, a place to nurture hopes and dreams, a safe space to hold secrets and resolve worries and fears. This place, strong and armoured, soft and comforting helps to give us inner strength to live in the outside world with hope, love and compassion.

This place within has direction, always moving forward through our given time.
