Flow (Land and Water) represents Richard’s feelings of this positive natural energy. He has been making glass sculpture specifically for the outdoors for over 20 years and still find the natural world wonderfully inspirational.

Flow (Land and Water) features in Richard and Sally’s exhibition Inspirer Expirer at the internationally important Musee du Verre Francois Decorchemont, France in 2023.

What better week than NATIONAL TREE WEEK to announce that LIVING COLUMN is now part of the @nationaltrust collection and will remain permanently @buscot_park
•
A huge sycamore planted circa 1780 inspired us to create LIVING COLUMN in 2022. It is a Jackson Fawkes collaborative glass sculpture and we ventured into the technology of jet cutting thick glass for the first time.
Trees are windows into the mechanics of life, with our survival inexorably linked to our stewardship of their care. Time is carved into the bark of these magnificent living columns, as they bear witness to the passing ages.

Buscot Park has an ongoing programme of tree planting and maintenance of the Pleasure Gardens… but you will have to wait until their 2025 season to visit now!
The Tree Council brings everyone together with a shared mission to care for trees and our planet’s future. @thetreecouncil has lots of information on its website of how to get involved with trees and has events happening this weekend.
Living Column enter was purchased through the Buscot Park Millennium Fund for future generations to enjoy.

Two weeks since Symbiose, le verre en duo opened @charleroimuseum in Belgium. Loving these photographs taken by the very talented @armon_photo . Thank you Arthur, for sharing your images of people in action looking at our sculptures.
Symbiose is showing the work of 11 couples who collaborate in making glass artwork. Starting with Libensky and Brychtova the exhibition take a timeline to artists making work today and covers work created across a spectrum of techniques and processes.
Symbiose is open until 5 March 2025 and is accompanied by a book.

Yesterday evening was the opening of SYMBIOSE, LE VERRE EN DUO @charleroimuseum in Belgium. We are absolutely delighted to have 5 new glass artworks between us in this incredible Focus exhibition of the work by 11 couples collaborating in glass. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with @cathou79 the museum curator who’s knowledge of glass and hard work dedicated to the delivery of exhibitions at the glass museum makes it happen there.
We can highly recommend a visit to explore this historical site.
Symbiose is open now until 05.03.2025 so we will have more posts to follow about the content of Sybiose, the verre en duo!

BUSY WEEK NEXT WEEK : 2 shows opening!

In Belgium @charleroimuseum Symbiose Le Verre en Duo and in London @padesignart with @londonglassblowing

Symbiose is an exhibition of glass artwork by couples who collaborate. We are both showing solo sculptures alongside a new collaboration. In fact all the work we have in this exhibition is new! It kicks off on 10 October with a symposium at 9.30 am and is followed by the Private View at 6pm.

Richard will have sculptures with London Glassblowing at their inaugural stand at the Pavillion of Art and Design in London.
PAD previews and openings are 8 & 9 October and is open to the public 10 - 13 October.

Saturday was a full on GLASS day in Stourbridge at the closing of @ifog2024 . First stop @glassmuseumuk to see the New Horizons exhibition with Richard’s Final Carrier Forgotten XVI in. Swipe to see some other pieces in the show by @opalseabrook , @sbrownglass and @kente_glass . These last two won prizes at the British Glass Beinnale too - big congrats!

On to @blowfish_gallery to see their 15 x15
exhibition where glass artists were challenged to make a piece no larger than 15 x 15 xm. Thank you to @bethjadewood for opening up especially for us - Hugely grateful and a great show.

Then to the British Glass Biennale for the closing ceremony and to have a REALLY good look at all the glasswork on display. Swipe for a selected few piece that stood out by @m.ostromecka , @jessieleeart , @isabellakullmann , @martindonlinartist , @lolalazarohinks , @tracey.sheppard_ and a big thank you to @glass_hack_projects for his years of curating the BGB.

Next Lines Threads and Traces curated by @ayakotani_glass introduced us to some artists work previously unknown to us. Work by China Kobayashi shown.

Then a surprise was to see Richard’s sculpture that was purchased by the Ruskin Collection from the 2004 British Glass Biennale.
